Dime Dime Baby Meme: Origin, Song and Meaning

If your feed is full of people, parents and dogs biting into sweet bread and staring at the camera, you have met the Dime Dime Baby meme. Here is where it comes from, what the words mean and why it turned into an AI trend within days.

Where the clip comes from

The original is a short phone video from a quinceañera, a girl's fifteenth-birthday party, in Mexico. A guest dances out of the party crowd toward the camera, takes a huge bite of a concha (a round Mexican sweet bread with a shell-patterned sugar top), stares into the lens with a completely straight face while chewing, then spins and dances back into the party.

It is ten seconds long and has no setup or punchline in words. The joke is the stare. That made it easy to copy, and in October 2026 it spread across TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts.

The four beats

1. The entrance: dancing out of the crowd toward the phone.
2. The bite: a big bite of the concha, right in front of the lens.
3. The stare: chewing, dead serious, looking straight at you.
4. The exit: a turn, and back to the party as if nothing happened.

Every remake keeps these four beats, which is why the format is recognisable in the first second.

The song and the words

The sound is a sped-up cut of "BbY WOW" by KAROL G, Judeline and rusowsky. The hook that everyone repeats is "dime, dime, baby". In Spanish, dime means "tell me", so the line is "tell me, tell me, baby". It has nothing to do with the coin.

That is why the trend has two names. Spanish-speaking TikTok calls it Dime Dime Baby after the hook; English-speaking TikTok calls it Bby Wow (or baby wow) after the song title, and the dancer is "the Bby Wow guy".

How it became an AI trend

Recreating the clip for real needs a party, a concha and a friend willing to film. So people started remaking it with AI: one photo of themselves, a parent, a coworker or a pet, turned into the same party clip with the same moves. The family-group-chat versions, with moms and grandmas doing the stare, spread the furthest.

You can make one with Dime Dime Baby AI: upload one photo, and the AI replaces the dancer while the party and the camera stay the same. Then follow how to make a Dime Dime Baby AI video to add the BbY WOW sound before posting.
